Dear parents, grandparents and teachers,

I believe classes like this can help us encourage the children in our lives,  to think bigger than mainstream education that limits their potential and their future satisfaction and happiness.Children are raised to be competitive in the job market so they can get the bigger house and the flashier car but “things” do not satisfy us for long, since the house could always be bigger and the car could always be flashier and so often we get stuck in this pattern of always wanting more and never being satisfied. Not only do people get bored with things easily but they do not find them satisfying because they feed our ego’s rather than our soul or higher self. So society encourages our children to prioritize things that do not feed their Spirit, since, Spirit thinks bigger and  beyond oneself.These classes  offer ideas on how we can encourage children to develop their soul’s  higher values so they can become happier and healthier adults  that give back to their communities and develop a deeper sense of purpose and awareness of self. Schools help develop children’s minds, but integrity, inclusivity, honesty, kindness, and many more heart qualities are developed at home and unfold over time, beginning at age 2. Therefore, these classes help parents, grandparents, and teachers deepen their understanding of self and children as incarnating consciousness, or souls. They also remind us of the importance of modeling higher energetic qualities – like kindness and generosity – as well as teaching higher truths, like brotherhood and goodwill.

This series of four classes is broken up into four developmental stages, since as children get older and understand more, they can deepen their existing heart qualities like kindness and compassion and develop new ones, like inclusivity and integrity.

Humanity needs these deeper understandings and qualities desperately right now, and it can begin with this next generation if we prioritize their development at home. The overarching goal of this class is to help our children with the unfoldment of their innate heart qualities and light, which will support the development of their full potential and help bring a shift in consciousness – more light and love – into their families, friends, work environments, and the world.

 

This Part 3 class focuses on:

               1. Spiritual and psychological information on children, primarily from books by: Alice                      Bailey, Lucille Cedercrans, Rudolf Steiner, Maria Montessori, Jean Piaget, and                            Joseph Chilton Pearce.         

                2. Children’s activities and strategies that support that development.

Part 3 will focus on the ages between 7–14, which includes most of elementary school and all middle school. We discuss the energy system, with a focus on the emotional body, and cognitive development—how to better understand and control all those emotions! In addition to karma, the three Souldren “R’s” are: Reverence (for life), Responsibility, and Relationship. We also introduce what Bailey talks about as right relationship and goodwill, and continue to discuss the unfoldment of their heart qualities.

This series of courses brings together my two lifelong passions: children and esoteric studies, as well as my college training and teaching experience. I am co-teaching with a close friend, Barb, who coordinated her church’s Sunday School activities for many years. She will offer strategies and ideas to help children understand and strengthen the expression of their heart qualities.
